  • The Canada Council for the Arts Digital Strategies Fund (2019) and Strategic Innovation Fund (2022) funded two research and prototype creation phases of the DoppelTone project including arts and accessibility testing.

  • Mahadeo Sukhai, Chief Accessibility Officer and VP of Research and International Affairs of the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) has been our CNIB contact for DoppelTone since its inception in 2020.

  • Kathy Beitz is a CNIB accessibility consultant specializing in early childhood education for children living with vision loss and has been consulting on DoppelTone since 2023.

  • Ramya Amuthan of Accessible Media Inc. Toronto has worked as an arts and education consultant for DoppelTone since its inception in 2020.

  • Chyvonne Emile-Bray is a dancer and fitness instructor, accessibility consultant, with experience at the CNIB and the YMCA’s programming.

  • Devon Healey, Assistant Professor of Disability Studies in the Department of Social Justice at the University of Toronto. Her work is grounded in her experience as a blind woman guided by a desire to show how blindness is a valuable and creative way of experiencing and knowing the world.

  • Nate Bitton is a visually impaired, award-winning Fight Director, stage combat instructor, performer, director and occasional stuntman theatre fight director and instructor, and performer with Peripheral Theatre.

  • Nate and Devon are participating in content creation for DoppelTone, and attended listening demos in 2021.

  • Meighan Duffin, PMP- Business Operations professional works at a health tech start-up in Toronto and has been consulting on DoppelTone since 2020.

  • Paul Pethick is a Quality Assurance professional specializing in WCAG compliance and has been consulting on DoppelTone since 2022.

  • Jenn Goodwin is a dance artist, curator, and artistic producer/programmer for the City of Toronto, Nuit Blanche, ArtworxTO, and the Toronto Biennial. She is consulting on community outreach programming for DoppelTone.

  • Ted Ludzik is the DoppelTone designer and Project Manager at Mikutech in London, Ontario and has been working with Andrea Spaziani on the project since its inception in 2019.

  • Andrea Spaziani is the creator of DoppelTone. She is a choreographer and dance artist from Toronto and is applying her research on the DoppelTone project to her PhD in Literary, Musical and Visual Through at the European Graduate School. She is currently creating a full-length sound-choreography piece at an artist residency at the LOBE 4D Sound studio in Vancouver, Canada.

  • Artists from the Toronto disability community who have participated in recent DoppelTone workshops and education modules include Chyvonne Emile, Christine Malec, Mohammad Waliul Islam, Julia Figueiredo, Kamini Rodhan, Rozina Issani, and George Quarcoo.
